Sara GilbertAbout the Artist

Sara Gilbert was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1988. Her love and appreciation for art came from a lineage of family artists; both grandmothers and mother were artists.

Sara started drawing lessons at age 6 and continued to work in different mediums, especially pastels and watercolor, from elementary school through college. She won awards during those former years.

Sara's mom encouraged her in 2001 to take up oil painting. For several years she has studied under accomplished and gifted painter, Margaret Howard.

Sara's style in impressionistic and it is inspired by nature and people.
